Make-A-Wish Teacher’s List

The Make-A-Wish Teacher’s List aim is to give our teachers the little extras that can help our teachers make our children better students.

For the 2006/7 school year the PTO budgeted $600 to cover this expense. One request we heard over and over again was a microwave for the teacher's lounge and so at the February meeting the GSMS PTO presented the teachers with a brand new microwave - for which we were thanked profusely.

A grant of $44 was made to Ms. Lorraine Smith to take her Future Educators of America students on a trip to the San Diego Zoo while attending the FEA convention.

We received many requests for boxes of tissues and basic classroom supplies - to that end we purchased the said tissues, pencil sharpeners, staplers, pencils and papers and distributed them at the January and February PTO meetings. Supplies not distributed at the meetings were placed in the teachers' lounge with a note for teachers to help themselves.

The PTO has also continues to provide volunteers when requested.
