General Smallwood Middle School

Welcome

This is the place to learn more about the PTO, our goals for the school year, the exciting activities we have planned, and how you can participate. Also, if you have any questions, comments or ideas you can

17 October 2006 is the deadline for the Safeway "10% Back to Schools" program. If you have received a reward certificate from Safeway, please drop them off at the office or send them in with your child. This is a great way for us to raise money for the school with very little effort - everyone has to eat - but so far we have only raised $11.94. We can do much better than that!

We are already looking forward to the new school year. General Smallwood has a new principal and she is bringing lots of exciting new ideas to our school. The PTO has lots of ideas too.

The biggest change is with scheduled PTO meetings. This year we will be meeting on the Mondays (during the second full school week of each month) at 6.30pm. As soon as we have the complete schedule it will be added to the website.

At our last meeting the biggest concern was the lack of communication between the school and parents. This year we are told there will be a quarterly school newsletter and an updated school website. Very good news indeed.

Free breakfasts are back at General Smallwood so we will not be doing MSA for MSA's this year, but we will be coming up with new, exciting projects for our school.

We will be repeating the Teacher's Make-A Wish project again this year so please check back to see what items are needed to assist our teachers.
